The Circle of Life

by Jenn M.
I am small and fragile
In my curls and ribbons.
I am dependent and shy
and I need my Mom, that’s a given.
I’m merely a little girl.

I am moody and always right
with puberty hitting strong.
I never need help with anything
even when I know I’m wrong.
I’ve become a teenager.

I am strong, yet gentle
with the little ones grabbing at me.
I’m a cook, nurse, doctor and counselor
and often times, just a referee.
I am now a Mom.

I am small and fragile again
with my walker and my aide.
Being so dependent and shy
has made me nothing but afraid.
I’ve lived my life as a Woman.
